Private painting instruction in Ottawa with Alexandra Flood

Alexandra has taught painting to people of all ages and experience levels since 2001. Her painting reflects versatility in technique and subject matter, and she takes pride in sharing this depth of knowledge as an art instructor. In doing so, she inspires her students to explore and find the approach that best suits their own creativity, since no two people paint the same way. Her teaching ethos focuses on putting students at ease, and giving them the confidence to tackle the art making process by way of step-by-step demonstrations, and hands-on guidance in acrylic. She works with subject matter that the individual student prefers, whilst balancing the necessary learning points to progress one’s skills with ideas that ignite the love of paint.

There are situations when you want more personalized guidance than a painting class or workshop can accommodate, especially when it comes to being coached on specific techniques, and working on your own projects.

Alexandra gives one-to-one painting instructing at her own studio located in Centretown Ottawa, or she can come to you if you are located within Ottawa city limits. Group instruction of 2 to 4 people at your own home.

One to one lessons are $20/hr, minimum of 2 hours per session.

Pare up with a friend for a lesson of 2 people and each participant will pay $15/hr.

Groups of four: $8/hr per participant.

Customized painting lessons at your location for groups of up to four [people can last anywhere between 2 hours, or spread out over a couple of days’ work, suited to the group’s requests. All one-to-one and group instruction at can include art supplies and use of Alexandra’s painting tools with an additional palette fee, devised to fulfill the requirements of your lessons. Individuals can also choose to bring their own art supplies and tools.
